To blog or not to blog? That is the question!
Letting light shine! |
When I first started my practice as a Hypnotherapist over 15 years ago and began offering women's groups, a friend suggested that I “blog”. “Excuse me, do what” I replied and then she explained to me what blogging was. At that time the idea of writing and offering whatever flowed from my heart for public consumption felt extremely scary to me. It still is to a lesser degree, as I'm still present to some fear of being judged, being called out, people not liking what I write, making mistakes, offending others, etc., etc. You know, the general ego based nonsense that pops up for most of us when we attempt to step out of our comfort zones.
The idea to start a blog kept coming back to me as did the constant nudges from my soul to start writing the book ideas that I've received over the years. The concepts for books kept stacking up and yet I wouldn't sit down to write. Hmm, perhaps something needed to come before? Yes, the practice of writing regularly and allowing what wants to flow, to flow. And also the need to build my writing skills as well as the spiritual muscles of courage and willingness to share what arrives from my muse with the world.
So here I am flexing the muscle of willingness in the hope that it will begin to bulk up my courage muscle enough to not only write but to post my heartfelt messages that will be put forth as “blogs” and eventually books! I'm still pondering what I will blog about, but have a strong sense there is a huge catalog of ideas in queue from my soul just longing to be brought forward. My muse had been silent for years but has been recently returning with vitality and joy offering interesting thoughts to ponder and concepts to explore. There is also a deep well I can tap into to allow what wants to flow from 15 years of having the honor of holding space for others as a Hypnotherapist, facilitating support groups for a Cancer Center and serving as a Bereavement Coordinator for hospice. Not to mention my own life journey of learning, healing, growing, facing my own challenges, moving through life with lots of loss and pain, a few “dark night of the soul” experiences, health issues that have cultivated a more compassionate, aware, and willing soul! So, ya there may be some things to share!
My intention for blogging will be congruent with my soul's mission which is to inspire, support and encourage others (and myself) through the rough patches of life, to nurture soul potential, to embrace all of who we are through all that life offers up for us and to revel in the gifts offered by continual transformation that blesses us if we are willing to learn and grow from all that comes along on our unique journeys.
So, now with all that said, I'm ready to begin! Blogging will be a way to honor my soul's need to express, but with genuine sincerity, I hope it speaks to your heart and soul as well! May it be so!
