What holds us back?

Marianne Williamson It’s taken me about 15 years to start writing a blog, around the same amount of time to begin developing a few book ideas, years more to garner the confidence to even try, and minutes before self-doubt and self-sabotage showed up when I opened my computer to begin writing! Sharing my gifts privately, one on one with my clients, with my friends, and facilitating support groups/workshops has felt safe for me. Flowing with established trust and confidence in my abilities at this level. Being able to “manage” the energy exchange during one on one sessions or in small groups provided protection from the unforeseen threats and perceived fears of heading for more expansive, open waters in support of others and in pursuing my purpose. To blog or not to blog? That is the question!

Letting light shine! When I first started my practice as a Hypnotherapist over 15 years ago and began offering women's groups, a friend suggested that I “blog”. “Excuse me, do what” I replied and then she explained to me what blogging was. At that time the idea of writing and offering whatever flowed from my heart for public consumption felt extremely scary to me. It still is to a lesser degree, as I'm still present to some fear of being judged, b eing called out, people not liking what I write, making mistakes, offending others, etc., etc. You know, the general ego based nonsense that pops up for most of us when we attempt to step out of our comfort zones. The idea to start a blog kept coming back to me as did the constant nudges from my soul to start writing the book ideas that I've received over the years. The concepts for books kept stacking up and yet I wouldn't sit down to write. Hmm, perhaps something needed to come before? Yes, the practice of writing r
